      Greetings. Trever convened the general membership meeting at 1:20 PM and welcomed everyone attending. There were 36 present including Santas, Mrs. Clauses, the Grinch, and several family members and other friends of NORPAC. We recognized Ernie and Ginny Walker for again opening their beautiful home and yard to us for NORPAC’s annual summer picnic.

      Blessing. Santa Gene Sanders gave a blessing for the meal we’d enjoyed and for our time together in fun and fellowship.

      Santa and Mrs. Claus Oaths. Trever led the Santas in reciting the Santa Claus Oath and Tracey Galland did the same for the ladies with the Mrs. Santa Oath.

      Introductions. There were no new Santas or Mrs. Clauses to introduce today.

      Minutes of Previous Meeting. Dale reported that the minutes from our previous meeting (in Federal Way on June 3, 2017) have been posted and available for members on NORPAC’s website for the past two months. There were no additions/corrections offered to those minutes.

      Treasurer’s Report. Santa Dennis Gorley was unable to attend today’s meeting but his printed treasurer’s report was available to all. Trever highlighted some points from this report:
      As of 8/2/17, NORPAC’s treasury balance was $4,942.63. Most of that is in Checking, except for $413.27 in Savings and $50.00 in Petty Cash;
      Paid NORPAC membership stands at 40;
      Registration materials for our Nov. conference have been sent out and completed forms and fees can be sent to Dennis.

      Reports.
      Mariners Game. Several who attended the Seattle Mariners game on July 3rd shared that they had a great time. Considerable funds were donated for Rick Rizz’s Toys for Kids program and use of the NORPAC sleigh for Santa photos was a big hit. Santa Bob Partlow received a nice “Thank You” from the Mariners organization and it appears they’d welcome NORPAC again for another game next year.

      Rainiers Game on July 16th was also reported to be a lot of fun by those attending.

      Upcoming Santa Gatherings. 8th Annual Northwest Santa Conference
      Nov. 2-4, 2017, Great Wolf Lodge
      Santa Gathering, Lancaster, PA Sept. 14-17, 2017
      2018 IBRBS Santa Gathering, Apr. 18-22, Denver

      8th Annual Northwest Santa gathering is coming up soon at the Great Wolf Lodge on Nov. 2-4, 2017. Trever reminded everyone that registration information has been sent and that we’re anticipating a great conference this year with Santa True providing several workshop sessions.

      New Business.
      Shoes for Mrs. Claus. Trish Sanders announced that she’d brought a couple pairs of shoes to sell to any Mrs. Claus who could use them.

      Bass Pro. Gene Sanders mentioned our concern over the some of the Facebook postings about the “Premier Santa Group” who will be hiring Santas for Bass Pro this year (see related notes in Executive Board minutes above).

      George Smith was congratulated for his recent completion of the Seattle to Portland (STP) bike ride. This was the 14th year that George has completed this event. Attaboy George!

      Polar Express Train. None of those who worked this event in 2016 have heard anything about the plans for 2017.

      Elections of NORPAC Board Members. Elections for all Board positions will occur at our February, 2018, meeting. Bob Partlow has agreed to serve as Election Committee Chair. The term of each position is 2 years and the positions to be elected include Co-chair (2 positions), Treasurer, Secretary, and 3 “at-large” positions. Nominations must be received by Bob no later than January 15th. It’s fine to nominate yourself, and if you nominate anyone else, be sure to obtain that person’s permission to do so.

      IBRBS 2020 National Conference. Trever shared that NORPAC has been approached by IBRBS about possibly hosting its national conference in 2020 (or perhaps 2022). Discussion followed. It was again mentioned (as in the Executive Board discussion earlier) that hiring an Event Planner would be critical. The same concerns about whether we have enough workers to host such a gathering were expressed. Trever said he’d put out a sign-up sheet at our conference in Nov. to try to determine if there’s sufficient interest to put together a planning group who could continue looking into the details.

      50/50 Drawing. Oops! Dennis Gorley routinely handles the 50/50 drawing at each meeting, but in his absence, we had no drawing today.

      Meeting adjourned by Trever at 2:02 PM, followed by group photos.

      Respectfully submitted,
      Dale Scott, Secretary
