The April meeting for the NORPAC Santas took place at The Ram Restaurant at 10019 59th Avenue, Lakewood, WA. A bigger room was booked and there seemed to be enough seating for all this time! The restaurant gave us a better deal on the room than they had originally told Santa Dennis.

Santa Dennis Simpson opened the meeting at 12:02 PM. There we a total of 45 folks in attendance which included Santas, Mrs. Clauses and visitors. There was one new to NORPAC Santa- Santa Tim Smith who introduced himself and told how he became Santa.

Santa Ron Kearns blessed the meal and the meeting.

Santa Trever led us in the reading of the Santa Oath.

Minutes from the February 1st, 2014 meeting were available for all members. Santa Dennis S. asked if there were corrections, hearing none the minutes were approved as written.

Santa Dennis G. also supplied us with an excel spreadsheet of Budget vs Actuals, which is available if you weren’t at the meeting.

We then had a report and ‘show and tell” from Santa Jerry Galland. He presented the new NORPAC banners. One smaller one that can be put in a suit case and one larger one for meetings or conferences, both are the same in nature. Santa Jerry also made a frame that can be broke down. He and Santa Russ Long worked on the design. The banners look great and will serve NORPAC well! A big thank you to both of you!

Santa Dennis S. talked about upcoming Santa gatherings:

Biggest Loser contest is still going, Santa Dennis S. won this time.

Old Business: Santa Ron reminded us again to try to use local merchants for our Santa “stuff” (clothes, boots, belts, magic) He named 3 in particular: Ardesson’s Shoe repair, Santa’s Closet (division of Clownshop.com) and Top to Bottom in the old B&I store.

New Business: Santa Lou did a photo shoot for the Tacoma Rainiers this past December and was talking to the advertising/promotion person about NORPAC doing something at a game in the summer. There were 4 dates to choose from, it was decided that we would attend the afternoon game on Sunday July 27th,2014. The price is the event is $10.50 person, which includes a hot dog, chips and a bottle of water. We needed a minimum of 20 people to commit, so far we have at least 40. Santa Lou will be meeting again with the promotion person again to let her know what we decided and to answer any questions we have. There is talk of combining our appearance at the game with a food drive, if that is the case, Santa Dennis G. suggested that NORPAC donate $300 to the cause, it was seconded and a vote by the group passed to do this. More to follow.

Great Wolf Lodge is booked for the conference on Nov. 6-8. The room rates are to remain the same as last year. The price for the lunch will be going up this year but by how much is not known at this time.

Santa Pat Costello informed us that Dave Logan’s (Frosty from Seattle Macy’s) brother died in the OSO landside.

Santa Dennis S. informed us that Scott Schmittler’s mother died this past week. NORPAC will send flowers.

Santa Dennis talked to us about the Santa America program of helping folks in need through natural disasters, especially children. He is the NW program contact person and we will be getting more info about the program in the near future.

We had lunch and shared some more Santa experiences at our tables.

Santa Dennis G. announced we collected $168 for the 50/50 drawing. Santa Gene Sanders won the 50/50 drawing and received $84.

Meeting was adjourned by Santa Dennis S. at 2:00, followed by group photos and photos of the new banner on the patio.

Next NORPAC meeting is June 7th at Panorama City, Lacey

      Future NORPAC 2014 meetings:
