NORPAC’s Executive Board met for a dinner meeting this evening at Shari’s Restaurant in Federal Way. Board members present included Dennis Gorley, Gene Sanders, Dale Scott, Dennis Simpson, and Trever Waltos.
Trever called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. Discussion focused on the details of the upcoming NORPAC sponsored workshop, Christmas Performer Workshop, to occur on June 9-10, 2018, at the Holiday Inn Express in Sumner.
We discussed conference room arrangements, AV needs, refreshments, and transporting our presenter (Santa True) to/from the airport. Everything appears to be in order and ready to go. Trever reported that he has tentatively reserved a room at Aversano’s Italian Restaurant in Sumner for workshop participants who would like to share a meal Saturday evening after the day’s workshop. Dale shared a map and list of nearby restaurants that attendees can visit during our lunch breaks on Saturday and Sunday.
Dennis G. reported that 33 people have so far paid to attend, with a couple more still considering it. Based on fees collected to date, Dennis projects a surplus of approx. $1400 after workshop expenses are paid. We talked about some possible uses of these funds such as increasing NORPAC’s charitable contributions. Another suggestion is the possibility of establishing a scholarship fund to assist NORPAC members to attend future Santa workshops. Trever suggested that we not make any decisions in this regard until after the CPW workshop and there was agreement to table this discussion for the time being.
We also spent a little time discussing the upcoming NORPAC general meeting on June 3rd at Billy McHale’s restaurant in Federal Way, beginning noon. Trever is working on the agenda for that meeting.
