You can order direct from them, but you must send them a hold harmless statement. (They make a special exemption for Santas. That is what I had to do, and I get products from their every year or so.)

To further expound on this topic….

The security of Zoom is strength exponentially when utilizing the following (all of which I do use for any of our meetings):

    • Password locking the meeting.
    • Participants must wait for host to join before they can join.
    • Monitoring of the participant list to ensure that those that are attending should be there.
    • Require host permission to record or screen share.
    • Utilize encryption by default.
    • Utilize waiting room to only invite those that should be in the meeting there. (I turn this off for Norpac’s meetings for various reasons.)

The reason Zoom is getting such a bad rap is due to inexperienced people flooding the system and now using it due to COVID-19. And they are not aware or are blissfully ignorant of some additional settings that need to be done. This is the reality of the world we now live in, one that is connected remotely. I hope that my answers will provide peace of mind and that more of our membership will realize that it really is safe to attend Zoom meetings. Especially Zoom webinars where participants are receive only and cannot send anything to the rest of the group.

    Ron:

There is likely nothing that I can say that will convince you otherwise. The security concerns that you outlined in our phone call are so infinitesimally small, and the odds of it actually happening are really remote. A large portion of the security concerns revolve around meetings that are not utilizing any security measures, and I deploy quite a few in every meeting that I do. (I spend quite a bit of time in zoom each week, and have never had any of the problems listed in those scare websites happen.) Also consider that virtual meetings may be a lot of what happens this christmas season.

This conference is only being offered on Zoom, and unless you change your mind, unfortunately you will be missing out on a GREAT conference.

    Have a wonderful day, Russell

I will be doing things on a case-by-case basis. I will be communicating with the families, that the families will need to be masked to protect everyone at least during my visit. And if anyone is sick they cannot be there.

Hello Santas (and Mrs Clauses, Elves and Grinches):

As most of us are sequestered in our homes for our own health and safety, we as a board thought it would be fun to do a virtual get together. Making sure that everyone is staying safe and healthy, and to share stories to help us through this period of time. Our first ever virtual get together is set for May 2nd @ 10am. This will be handled by Zoom Meetings. You can join by computer (Mac, Windows, Linux), Android, iPhone, iPad, tablet, Chromebook, etc. If you plan to show up, please go to our facebook page and mark yourself as ‘going’ to this event.

This will be a lot of fun! Hope to see you all there! (We will even take a ‘photo’ to post to our facebook page, just don’t blink!)

If you have any questions, let us know on the forum. Hope to see you all there!

I read one for the first time last year called The Christmas Unicorn by Anna Currey. I expected it go over ok, but I was shocked at how much both the girls and the boys loved it.

    Chuck,

Check out https://www.folkmanis.com/146/home.htm. They have been creating high-quality puppets for a long time now, and they’re a Pacific Northwest company.

You can order online or find them in quality independent toy stores.

Jim Henson started with a sock, made a fortune. There are places OnLine, but they cost. If you can get someone to make you one. There is a Toy Store in Greenwood that sells puppets for Children
