“The greatest thing is not to believe in Santa Claus; it is to be Santa Claus.”- Actor Pat Boone
Would you like to join Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves in experiencing the magic and joy of Christmas that they see in the eyes of young believers all year long?
NORPAC Santas offers you a great opportunity to join our Christmas performers in the unique experience that traces its roots back more than 1,700 years.
Many think putting on a red suit and saying “ho, ho, ho” makes you Santa. But being a Santa or any other Christmas performer is much more than an experience or a job. It is more like a calling of the heart.
That’s where NORPAC comes in. We can help you bring to life the spirit of Christmas so that you can best share it with others.

Training
Every Christmas performer needs training. We all have so much to learn and, at our age, our memories sometimes need refreshed!

NORPAC has quarterly luncheon meetings and a yearly conference that give its members an opportunity to learn and grow professionally, network with and enjoy like-minded people, share experiences and support each other in this unique calling.
We are part of a national organization IBRBS (The International Brotherhood of Real-Bearded Santas) that can also be a resource. IBRBS has a national conference every two years so Santa performers nationwide can meet others and get bags full of training. IBRBS offers a number of scholarships to help pay for training.

Quarterly Meetings
We have four quarterly meetings. Three are at area restaurants, and the fourth is usually a summer picnic. Check the calendar for upcoming events. Non-members and vendors are welcome to join us at meetings.

NORPAC Annual Conference
Each Fall, we have our conference. At least two days in length, it is filled with education and round-table discussions to help performers become their best. We time the conference so members and friends can improve their skills and hone their talents so they’re ready for the season. Topics cover the gamut, from how to make a mustache curl at the tips to business and tax considerations to how to answer the sometimes heart-wrenching and difficult requests whispered by children in Santa’s ear.
Non-members and vendors are welcome to attend.

Special Events
From time to time, NORPAC is called upon to provide Christmas performers for special events. One such occasion, the Seattle Mariners’ Christmas in July, a fund-raiser at a Mariners’ game for Rick Rizz’s Toys for Kids organization, has become a tradition in recent years. Several volunteer Santas, Mrs. Clauses and elves are on hand for photos and visits with families attending the game.

Job Board
NORPAC has a job board where people who want a Santa or Christmas performer can post their job requests. It is an unfortunate fact that the supply of Santas is far less than the demand so Santas keep busy – not only at the end of the year, but at events year-round.

Other Christmas Performers
More and more, women who play Mrs. Claus and people who portray other characters associated with the holiday are being sought to accompany Santa or do stand-alone performances for holiday events. Each year, we give special consideration to their training. We are always on the lookout for elves, Grinches, snowmen and all other character who can bring their own kind of magic to a holiday visit.

A Universe of Santas
Of course, Santa sees children of all backgrounds and ethnicities. NORPAC is especially seeking Santas and Christmas performers who reflect the diversity of those children, so they can say when they see him, “Oh! He looks like me!” Santa is universal. We want to reflect that universal appeal.
You are never too old or young to put on your Christmas ensemble and let the spirit of the season shine through. So join us in the merriment!

As journalist Bob Phillips wrote, which rings a jingle bell with everyone in our group:
“There are three stages of man: he believes in Santa Claus; he does not believe in Santa Claus; he is Santa Claus.”
