Old Business
Biggest Loser Contest Glenna Gorley did weigh-ins for those participating.
Liability Insurance Dennis S. reminded everyone that we’ve decided not to pursue liability insurance/background checks through NORPAC at this time. This decision was based on only a handful of members expressing interest.
Raffle Baskets Dennis S. explained that we’re seeking contributions of Santa themed baskets to be raffled (or auctioned) during the conference at Great Wolf Lodge. Proceeds will strengthen our treasury and assist with our various projects. Some possible baskets already offered include Date Night. Movie Night, and an Emergency Kit. Get creative—we’d love to have an assortment of baskets to offer. Please let Dennis know if you’re able to provide a basket.
New Business
Santa Toy Bag Display. Dennis S. announced that at our Nov. conference, we’d like to create a display of Santa Toy Bags. Members are encouraged to bring their toy bag to viewed with the others.
The Night Before Christmas. Dennis S. shared that on Saturday morning of the conference, we’d also like to have a contest with several volunteers reading The Night Before Christmas so we may gather ideas as to how various Santas deal with this classic poem. A “winner” will be determined by vote and a small prize awarded.
Nominating Committee. Ron Kearns has been appointed chair of our NORPAC nominating committee. Scott Schmittler and Ernie Walker both volunteered to serve on the committee. If there are other volunteers for the committee, please let Santa Ron know of your interest. Nominations for Executive Board positions may be made by members in good standing through Jan. 15, 2014. A ballot of all candidates will be presented to the membership and voted upon at our February meeting.
Sharing. Ken Stager told us about how he’s transformed the “Elk Head” formation of Mt. Rainier into a reindeer in order to explain to children where the reindeer live. He calls Mt. Rainier Mt. Reindeer. To learn where that formation is on the mountain, Ken suggested we google “Mt. Rainier—Elk Head.”
Grover Ramsey shared that they are moving to Phoenix and we wished him well.
50/50 Contest. $116 was collected. Scott Schmittler had the winning ticket and collected $58.
The meeting was adjourned at approx. 2:10 PM and was followed by a group photograph.
Respectfully submitted,
Dale Scott, Secretary
